Maidstone is well served by Further and Higher Education providers and is within easy reach of London’s world class Universities, as well as Canterbury’s higher education hub.

University for the Creative Arts (UCA) offers local courses in areas such as Animation, Graphic Design, Video and Illustration. A Broadcast Media Foundation Degree was launched in January 2010, the product of an innovative partnership with Maidstone Studios, a leading TV studio.

The highly-rated Mid Kent College (MKC) is based in Maidstone and will soon benefit from a £23 million makeover. The college has been rated “Good” by Ofsted, with an “Outstanding” capacity to improve and offers courses ranging from welding to healthcare and literature to life sciences. New diplomas focus upon applied learning in the workplace in disciplines such as Applied Science and Media.

Through an innovative partnership with the University of Kent, MKC provides Foundation Degrees and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), including Civil Engineering and Construction at its Maidstone campus.
