Maidstone offers a variety of   family events throughout the year both at local attractions and within the parks, town centre and along the river. These cover everything from Christmas festivities to St George’s Day and Guy Fawkes. 

Sporting facilities include golf clubs at Bearsted, Leeds Castle, Cobtree Manor, Weald of Kent, The Ridge and the Marriott Tudor Park and Golf Club.  A good fun Pitch and Putt in Mote Park provides excellent family entertainment.

Excellent horse riding can be found on the North Downs and a new state of the art equestrian centre is proposed close to the Kent County Show Ground.

Penenden Heath Tennis Academy provides good sporting facilities for all ages and Medway & Maidstone Athletic Club based at Sutton Valence School has an exceptional reputation for producing international athletes.  Maidstone Hockey Club based at Armstrong Road and Maidstone United Football Club provide excellent training and fun for all ages.
