Maidstone is home to two major shopping centres  Fremlin Walk  and The Mall (formerly Chequers) , plus the Royal Star Arcade, Week Street and Gabriel’s Hill which offer a vibrant mix of chain stores and independent retailers. 

The leading supermarkets are all represented, including ASDA Home, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Somerfield, Tesco and Waitrose.

Maidstone also offers a mix of retailers usually found at out of town shopping destinations, at St Peter's Wharf on the banks of the river Medway that runs through the town. Here you can find an ASDA Home, Homebase, TK Maxx, Hobbycraft and a newly built Travelodge.
