Forging Ahead - Maidstone High Street Investment

The multi-million pound regeneration scheme has been given the go-ahead by Maidstone Borough Council. The first phase will commence in 2011, incorporating the area from the Mall Chequers shopping centre to the end of Bank Street and the second phase from Mill Street to the dual carriage way junction will follow at a later date.

Project Manager, John Foster said "We are very excited about this project which will transform Maidstone's town centre with completely new street lighting, granite paving and a series of meeting spaces designed around a pedestrian-friendly road network".
