Maidstone firms scoop 3 KEiBA awards

2011 has been a bumper year for Maidstone firms, at Kent’s Excellence in Business Awards.

Bedfont Scientific , a specialist manufacturer in the medical equipment sector won two awards, SME Business of the Year and Best Science and/or Technology Business. The company has recently moved to new premises at Harrietsham and is investing in R&D to develop breath analysis equipment capable of giving a complete health check based on a single ‘breath test’.

Media and marketing company, We Love, won Best Business from the Creative Industries. Founded just three years ago We Love already employ 14 full time and four freelance staff, with plans to increase headcount to 37 within the next two years through international growth and acquisition. We Love clients have included blue chips such as Sony Ericsson, Yamaha Europe, L’Oreal and MTV.

Bedfont export around 80% of turnover and We Love engage in cross-channel marketing and design, a theme of overseas expansion which was evident among a number of the category winners.
