The Council – here to help!Maidstone Borough Council has introduced a raft of measures to help local businesses. What’s on offer? |
The Council has responded to the tough trading conditions by introducing measures aimed at improving the cash flow of its suppliers. Additionally, it is encouraging business owners to take full advantage of the advice and support services on offer. In particular these measures include: paying small businesses for goods and services as quickly as possible, on receipt of their invoice; hosting one to one Business Support Clinics at the Council’s Gateway four days every month; offering small businesses monthly rental payments, instead of quarterly (on a case by case basis in Maidstone Borough Council owned property); ensuring all businesses receive the Business Link guide, “Free help for your business in tough times”; the production of a new directory opening up business to business opportunities; sponsoring the Kent Learning Showcase – profiling national skills and training support available to businesses. And then there’s the multi-million pound investment in the town centre which will help to create the most attractive trading conditions for businesses and attract more shoppers and visitors. So there really is plenty of help on offer – you just need to get in touch. And look out for the redesigned and re-launched Locate in Maidstone website with advice and guidance on the new financial support loans and grants available from Central Government. Next step...
